Windowing

Windowing changes the appearance of an image. Different windowing can expose and hide certain features. Limiting the window so that the window is smaller than the full range of pixel values will expose more details within the window, but will lose details outside the window. Here, window refers to the range of displayed pixel values, not the geometric field of view.
